Ruti's original music and theatre projects: WWW.RUTILACHS.IEgreat grandma's story
Ruti has been researching the history of the Cork Jewish community, since moving to Cork in 2017. She is writing a musical play, working title Great Grandma's Story, set in the Jewish community in Cork in the early 1900s. This research and writing has been partly supported by an Individual Artist's Grant from Cork City Council Arts Office. Parts of the play have been performed in April 2018 at the Theatre Development Centre in Cork, and in August 2018 at the Siopa Gan Ainm arts evening in Cork, Zolala Klub.

Original Music - and Solo Show: Sideways on Planet Piano
Ruti composes songs and tunes for bands and solo performance. FaBaRu play a number of her original compositions, and she has occasionally performed her own songs for adult performances (separate from the work with children/community groups), solo, with accordion. In 2016 she was awarded an Artist Retreat grant from the Kerry County Council Arts Office,She spent 8 days composing and writing at the Tyrone Guthrie centre in October 2016. In 2017, Ruti was awarded a Creative Development Bursary from Kerry County Council Arts Office, to work on her solo show for adults, Sideways on Planet Piano. This was developed on a residency at the Theatre Development Centre in Cork in April 2017, and has been touring in Ireland since May 2017.
The Madrugada
Ruti has been involved in a theatre show in development, the brainchild of Mark Wilikins, in the Theatre Development Centre in the Triskel, Cork. "Intersections presents 'The Madrugada' , a new work in progress music-theatre piece set in Cork City in the very early hours. It features a song cycle based on the words and lyrics of the late Cork writer and singer Mick Lynch (courtesy of the Lynch family) and arranged for music by Cork musician and composer Mark Wilkins. It will be performed by actor/dramatist Dominic Moore, vocalist Vickie Keating, musician Ruti Lachs and Mark Wilkins."

Quangodelic are a funk band based in Cork. Ruti plays trombone as part of their extensive brass section.
